Artist Statement

Making paintings and mixed media pictures I have explored my deep interest in the effects of light, shade and colour.

My pictures look into how these effects impact on our emotions, perceptions and experiencing of the visual world of scenes, landscapes and objects.

Through the use of paint, printing and collage, and using pre-existing imagery and ‘found’ pieces, the abstracted works reflect and capture glimpsed memories and suggestions of place in time.
