Artist Statement

Roger is a painter in watercolour and oils. Usually working en plein air, his closely observed paintings attempt to capture the transitory light effects and changing seasons that affect the landscape in which he lives. A long association with farming ensures his work avoids idealism but depicts the realities of the working landscape.
