Artist Statement

Pete is a Derbyshire artist concentrating on print, painting and mixed media constructed work.
His themes range from coastal subjects, mainly the East coast, to Derbyshire landscapes with the grit stone edges being a particular focus. Recent work has concentrated on building surface in order to mimic and explore the rich and diverse characteristics found in collagraph blocks after printing.
This work enables him to examine the way painting becomes object in it's own right.
His work is held in many private collections in this country and abroad. He has received several awards and commendations including trophies presented by Buxton Art Gallery and museum as part of the Derbyshire open Entry annual exhibition.
